  4. I love your bookshelves, Mands! I'm curious about Deep Blue but only because I like Donnelly's writing. I have had the worst luck with mermaid books! Could make for a nice bookish manicure though, eh?
    Have a great week!

I haven't heard very good things about Deep Blue, but that cover is gorgeous. I hope those reviews were a fluke and that you enjoy it, Mandee. :)

  9. Love Molly! Haha, God yes, cats don't believe in letting us sleeping in, do they? Clockwork wake up call, whether you want it or not, sigh.
Lol on the book might be scarier than the ghost tour thing.
Awesome looking reads, hope you'll enjoy :)

  10. Aww, crap. On my Kindle and can't see you showing off your goodies. Your books! Although, one slip on the Kindle screen and that could have been boobs. I haven't be drinking, it's just really, really late.

Awesome haul and I'm.so excited about the chat this week. Last week was good, but my feed was slow and I didn't get enough time to chat in between the questions posed. I'm hoping to hop on the laptop for this one. Can't wait and you'll be brilliant :)

  11. Great haul! I didn't technically get any books this week, since the ones I got autographed I haven't actually purchased yet, they're sitting on the shelf for employees to purchase at the bookstore where I work. I'm hoping to get the Jennifer Donnelly book you got at BEA this summer!

  12. Oh wow, your cover for Searching for Sky is so different! Is that the Aussie cover or the ARC? I'm in love with the US cover so no others can compare. Hope you get time to rest and recoup today =)

  14. I love that cover of the ghost book. I will try to keep an eye out for a way for me to get it. I wish Aussie books were easier for me to get a hold of!

Yes, I do think that book qualifies for the wilderness square! Thank you for the blog shout-out too. You are the sweetest, Mandee!

  18. Molly is so pretty! I have a black tortoise who looks a bit like her. The Haunting of Lily Frost looks awesome. I'm excited to hear what you think. Deep Blue also looks interesting, although I hear it's pretty young. Great haul! I hope you had a great weekend!

  20. I always love to check out the Aussie YA you get! It keeps me at least somewhat up to date. :) I didn't love Deep Blue, but it's a gorgeous book in person, so even if you're the same, at least you have a pretty book to look at! Ooh, and if you do nails, I bet they'll be absurdly pretty! I'm reading Searching For Sky right now (though I'm not far) and it's interesting. I quite like that cover for it, though--kind of nondescript. Have a great week!! :D

  21. Great vlog! I hope you enjoy these books! I think the only one I'm currently hoping to read is Searching for Sky, which I didn't recognise with it's ARC cover. It sounds really interesting and I look forward to seeing what you make of it!

  24. Flirty Dancing has totally messed up the colour palette there.

I read a book when I was in primary school called Ghost Boy which is set in the current time (mid 90's) and has a boy who's family is struggling for money?/divorcing parents and then cuts to the past to a poor family coming across and being quarantined during all the small pox dramas. He's back now as a ghost to get the current period boy to solve all his Unfinished Business which also helps the current boy out of all his problems. It was the first historical fiction book I'd ever read and it certainly helped sell me on genre and I've been curious to see the Quarantine station ever since though I've never actually gone.

The thing that I love most about that book is that it almost never got read by me to begin with. My mum worked at a school and her library was chucking it out so she gave it to me. So there is my nice long anecdote about that book.

On another note, I always love seeing your cats, especially Molly, she's got such BEAUTIFUL colouring, it's truly amazing. And my Charlie got her winter fluffs in much earlier than usual this year and has been SO SNUGGLY. Which is fantastic, only thing is, she likes to sit between me and the laptop and if I try and get up at any time she HUFFS at me for inconveniencing her and making her move. Cheeky little cupcake!
