Stacking the Shelves (12)

Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Tynga's Reviews - it's a way for us to share the books we received, purchased or borrowed during the week.

Vlog (featuring an appearance from Molly!):

Purchased:
Graffiti Moon by Cath Crowley (Aussie YA)

For review:
Mutant City by Steve Feasey

Borrowed:
The Butterfly Tattoo by Philip Pullman

I mentioned in the vlog a new twitter chat for fans of Aussie YA. Shaheen from Speculating on SpecFic and I will be hosting a fortnightly chat, #OzYAChat. We had our first one on Thursday and it went really well! Join us in two weeks for the next one, and check out the recap and the hashtag to see what we talked about.

  3. I must read Graffiti Moon soon! I might check out the audio as well. I missed your Oz Chat but I did read through some of it and I'll be sure to stop by next time. So glad it was successful!

  4. I'm definitely going to have to get myself a copy of Graffiti Moon's audiobook because I looooved it and if the audio is good enough to listen to three times, then I'm definitely in. Not sure the novel you received for review would be for me either -- it does look like Goosebumps! -- but I'm looking forward to your review of Graffiti Moon. Lovely haul, Mandee!! :)

    1. Yes, I think there is even a US version using different Aussie narrators, but at least they used Aussies!

  11. I'm definitely adding Graffiti Moon to my TBR because any book worth listening to 3 times in 3 weeks is obviously something special. I understand your annoyances with audiobooks narrators. I don't listen to many audiobooks because I'm SO picky when it comes to narrators.

  13. I loved Graffiti Moon, I kept trying to picture where it was set in Melbourne. I remember seeing that you listened to the Audio I think, have you read it before? Must admit, I'm still yet to listen to any audiobooks. Do you prefer them over paperbacks?

  14. I've not heard of any of these...I hope they are wonderful. Everyone seems to be loving Graffiti Moon...thinking I might have to add it to the TBR wish-list.

  17. I'd love to get in on a chat like that! You're having another one, right?? I saw the hashtag floating around, but I wasn't so sure how it all worked. >_< I should figure it out! You guys are fabulous to put that together. And I can't watch the vlog because I'm in the library with no headphones and, you know, noise is frowned upon. ;) But I see Graffiti Moon is the screenshot and GOSH DO I LOVE THAT BOOK!!! I totally blew me away. Got me addicted on all things Cath Crowely that's for sure.

  19. I've never read anything from Philip Pullman other than the His Dark Materials books, but those are some of my favorites. I'd kind of forgotten he has other books (Gah, shame on me!) but now I remember! :D I hope you enjoy all of these!

    1. Thanks, Rach! It is easy to forget that authors have older books or different genres!

  20. I've always heard good things about Graffiti Moon, but have never read it. I'll have to see if my library has it. Great haul!

  21. Aww Molly is so cute! I haven't seen that copy of Graffiti Moon yet, I really like it! I clearly need to pick up the audio, it sounds wonderful. Mutant City does look kind of young, totally Goosebumps age (which I loved when I was a kid, but not so much now). :-) Hope you enjoy your reads!
