  1. Ooh, those noodles look delicious! I love looking through cookbooks, although, admittedly, taking the time to actually make the dishes usually escapes me. Still, I hope you wind up making some of those dishes since they look and sound fantastic.

I've been meaning to read One Long Thread for a long time, so I'm curious to see what you think of this author's latest work. The cover of Old Magic gives an odd impression of the story within. It's a story of magic and curses and witches, though the cover looks more sci-fi, but I really enjoyed it and I hope you do too, Mandee! I haven't read the other novels you've received, but I'm looking forward to seeing what you think of them. Happy Reading, Mands! :)

    1. I'm the same, lately all I do is look through cookbooks, I don't actually cook from them much!

  5. I seem to have a collection of cookbooks, though I spend more time salivating over the pictures than doing any actual cooking. I am quite hopeless in the kitchen. :D Brown Skin Blue is new to me, but I'll be sure to check it out now. I really like the simplicity of the cover. Thanks for sharing, Mandee!

  14. I love that you feature so many Aussie YA books but then it's sad because some of them are hard to get here.

  16. I love checking out cookbooks from the library. I haven't read anything by Jessica Shirvington but she had a book that came out last year that's coming out in the states this spring that I can't wait to read. Great haul!

  17. Oh really loved The Violet Eden Chapters! I'm usually put off by angel stories too, but this series was brilliant. Hope you enjoy it too :)

  18. I want to read the Violet Eden Chapters but the angel factor throws me off as well! I don't know what it is about angels that turns be off. They just started rubbing me in the wrong way sometime last year so I just kind of avoided reading most books that have angels :P

AND OLD MAGIC. I read Hidden last year but absolutely did not like it but Old Magic really intrigues me. Plus the cover is pretty awesome. The one I originally saw on goodreads wasn't nearly as gorgeous as the one you got but yeah, I hope you enjoy it.

Happy reading and have a great week Mands!! :)

  19. Haha I love that Old Magic cover, it really is like 90's Goosebumps! Can't wait to hear what you think of it, and the rest of your fab book fair finds. PS - love the new combination blog, it's so lovely! :-)

  22. I've always wanted to read Old Magic. I hope it's good! And I hear you about angels. It's something I rarely ever read as I just don't care for the subject matter. Which is also why I have avoided Angelfall for so long. But I did get it gifted to me so I have to read it sometime soon. :D
